A. My favorite subjects are newborns babies and their families! I also love to photograph maternity and cake smash sessions. If you have any pets I will encourage you to include them in our photos. I have a lot of experience working with animals. I don’t photograph weddings - but I could refer you to some wonderful Edmonton wedding photographers.
A: Sessions are best in the morning or early evening, depending on the session type. For newborns or babies, I prefer morning sessions simply because they tend to be happier (or sleepier for newborns) in the morning! The time is also dependent on the light outdoors for outdoor sessions. Midday sun is harsh and unflattering. I prefer the warm colours and soft shadows later in the evening. Evening sessions are usually scheduled within about 2-3 hours before sunset.
A. For indoor studio sessions, I photograph them in my west Edmonton homes based studio. I am located conveniently off the Anthony Henday and 62nd avenue overpass. I will have everything set up and ready to go when you arrive. This saves time as there is no set up and tear down of equipment at your home. You also don't have to worry about moving furniture so my studio lights and backdrop stands will fit.
I do not travel to client's homes for studio session, unless there are extenuating circumstances that prevent travel (ie.mobility issues). Please contact me directly and we can discuss. Travel fees may be applicable. The main reason I don't travel to client homes is I can control the photography conditions (lighting, space requirements, heat, cleanliness, etc).
For outdoor sessions, that is totally up to you! I have lots of options for beautiful locations around the city and can suggest some places closer to your house. Or if you have a favorite area or a place that is special to you, I would love to hold the session there. It also depends on the look you are going for….Natural (trees, streams, rocks) or Urban (bricks, graffiti, textures). If you have a suggestion, let me know ahead of time so that I may check the area out before we meet.
A. If it is a newborn session, babies look best in the buff. But you are more than welcome to have some special outfits on hand for the photos. For parent/baby photos, I suggest to keep it neutral colours. Black or white shirts are classic and timeless in photos. For maternity sessions, wear what you feel comfortable in. With that said, tighter fitting clothes accentuate your baby belly and are more flattering in photos than baggy clothing. For family sessions and other sessions, clothing that compliments each other (but it not matchy-matchy) looks great in photos. I would caution against wearing a lot of bold patterns as it can overwhelm the photos.
A. Most of my outdoor sessions are within the Greater Edmonton Region (including St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Leduc, Devon, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain). I will travel up to 50 kilometers miles from Edmonton. If you are further away, please contact me for a quote on the additional travel expense.

A. No, the fee covers my time, expertise, business operating costs, insurance and full custom editing of your portraits. All digital photos, prints and products are purchased separately. Please contact me through the contact form for my complete Price list.
A: Within a few days, you will be able to see a sneak peek of your session on my Facebook page and Instagram. Within about two-three weeks after the session date, I will have your private gallery ready for viewing. Because my work is visual and social media is a major part of attracting new clients, I do charge a $100 fee for keeping photos private. Please let me know before the photoshoot if you feel you should be exempt from this policy (ie: undercover police officer).
