There is nothing quite like capturing a sunset pregnancy portrait session during a classic Alberta winter, especially when you have access to one of the most unique photo locations at Lake Summerside.
As an experienced YEG maternity photographer, I am always looking for distinct visual textures that make a gallery stand out. For Kimberly and her husband’s winter maternity photos in Edmonton, we lucked out with a spectacular golden hour sunset casting warm tones across a frozen landscape. Adding an incredible, icy element to the shoot, the couple posed in front of massive, carved blocks of ice left behind on the lake from a charity polar dip event held just days prior.
The stark, glassy ice blocks paired with the soft winter sunset created a breathtaking, high-contrast backdrop. Kimberly looked absolutely radiant against the frozen lakefront, perfectly blending the crisp winter elements with the warm anticipation of welcoming a new baby.
